Presentation
Tumor dormancy poses a critical obstacle in cancer treatment, often leading to late metastasis and disease relapse. Using salivary gland cancer as a focused example, this talk explores the biological mechanisms behind tumor cell dormancy, how dormant cells evade detection and resist therapy, and why this leads to unique clinical challenges. Understanding dormancy’s role in metastatic progression could pave the way for new therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes in this rare but challenging cancer type.
